About this Course
Infrared Thermography Category I is a four-day course Tuesday – Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm. IRT CAT I is ideal for professionals involved in condition monitoring seeking to become proficient infrared thermographers. You will learn the 'science' of infrared thermography, camera operation, how to collect quality data, and how to diagnose a range of fault conditions in mechanical, electrical, civil and process applications. Additionally, you will gain experience with practical exercises, equipping you with the knowledge and confidence to set up and operate thermal imaging equipment, acquire and analyze data, and effectively report test results. Upon completing the training, the certification exam will be offered at the end of the fourth day. The IRT CAT I exam has 50 multiple-choice questions with 2 hours to complete. Please note: It is required that all candidates have their colour perception assessed by the Ishihara 24 plate test. A record of test results should be retained and presented to the MIBoC upon request. In the event that a colour perception deficiency, indicated by misreading four or more of the 24 plates, is detected during the Ishihara test, a secondary colour shade perception test shall be administered by MIBoC to assess the candidate's ability to differentiate between shades of colours.
